FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Our barn doors are crafted from solid hardwoods like poplar and basswood, and/or engineered wood. Hardwoods offer natural grain patterns and durability, while engineered options provide a smooth, consistent surface with minimal warping.
- Flat track system – The most common, with an exposed rail and roller wheels.
- Soft-close system – Slows the door before full closure for quiet operation.
- Bypass system – Allows multiple doors to slide past each other for tight spaces.
- Ceiling-mounted track – Ideal for rooms with limited wall space.
Standard barn doors are 1-3/8” to 1-3/4” thick, ours are 1-1/2” being the most common for durability and smooth sliding. Thicker doors provide better sound insulation and structural integrity.
- Matte black – A modern, versatile look for most wood tones.
- Brushed nickel – Complements contemporary and farmhouse designs.
- Gold tone – A versatile designer color staple.
To maximize privacy, we consider:
- Full-overlay installation – Extends beyond the doorway for better coverage.
- Privacy locks – Available as hook-and-latch, teardrop, or sliding bolt styles.
- Soft-close tracks – Help prevent gaps by ensuring a tight fit when closed.
